Transition Contact Lenses

Sites Vision Clinic in Clarksville now offers Acuvue Transitions contact lenses!

Are you looking for the latest innovation in contact lenses? Your doctors of optometry at Sites Vision Clinic are pleased to announce that we now offer Acuvue OASYS Transitions contact lenses, the first contact lenses with intelligent technology for great vision in both bright and dark conditions. Let’s take a look at transitions contact lenses.

Your eye doctor uses Transitions lenses to address light sensitivity

We see many people who have photophobia, or severe light sensitivity. Moving from room light to sunlight temporarily takes their good vision away. Transitions lenses darken when ambient light gets brighter, and lighten when ambient light is dimmer. When you walk outside during the day, UV light causes tiny crystals inside the lens to change shape, and that's what makes the lens darker. Transitions lenses block 99 percent of UV-A and UV-B sunlight, protecting you against sun-related eye diseases.

Acuvue fits more people well than many other brands of contact lenses.

The reason we are excited about getting progressive lenses from Acuvue is that they make contacts that fit more people well. Acuvue makes lenses for people with steep corneas and with flat corneas. They make lenses for farsightedness in strengths up to +8. They make lenses for nearsighted people down to -12. Adding progressive lenses to their product line makes bright light protection available to many more people. Right now, Acuvue is not making progressive lenses for people who have astigmatism, but if you have just a little astigmatism, talk with your eye doctor, you may still be able to wear these lenses.

Because Transitions lenses are a little bit gray, they are easier to find

Even in their case, Transitions contact lenses are just a little gray. They are a lot easier to find than most contact lenses.

Transitions contact lenses make outdoor activities a lot more enjoyable

When you wear Transitions progressive contact lenses, there's no more squinting or turning your face away from the sun. If you play a sport where you can't wear sunglasses, like football, baseball, tennis, or golf, you'll enjoy the game a lot more.
